Historic Preservation 101: This Place Matters
June 16, 2011 |
Join the Historic Preservation League of Oregon and Oregon Main Street Program to discover and discuss available tools and ideas to honor, preserve, and revitalize your town. The workshop, like the historic preservation field generally, will address not just tangible buildings and structures, but the infused memories and stories that give communities a sense of place grounded in history, culture, and aesthetics. A portion of the workshop will serve as a "this place matters" conversation, with interactive discussion about local places that matter and the strategies available to build community and economic success through historic preservation. All participants are required to bring a photograph, artifact, or description of an Oregon place that matters to them. RSVPand a $5 donation are requested to cover light food and drinks.
