Restore Michiana: Sustainable Preservation
August 13, 2014 |
Restore Michiana is pleased to invite you to attend Sustainable Preservation, a lecture in the Restore Michiana series. Learn why the greenest building is the one already built – why dumping buildings in the landfill is not sustainable. We’ll showcase examples of how buildings have been conserved by adapting them to new use and how retrofits and routine maintenance can improve energy performance.Restore Michiana, a partnership of Indiana Landmarks and Historic Preservation Commission of South Bend & St. Joseph County, is an annual series for owners of vintage homes, contractors and students. Participants learn best practices from experts in the field on a wide variety of repairs and restoration topics. Sponsors for this workshop include: Kil Architecture and Planning and St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
