Built in 1878, this registered Michigan Historic Site was built as part of the Red Ribbon temperance movement in the 1800's, when men wore red ribbons in the lapels and pledged to abstain from alcohol. It has been home to theatrical acts, band concerts, lectures, indoor softball, and even the basketball court for the high school. It was also one of the stops for traveling vaudeville shows and an early venue for the newly formed Harlem Globetrotters. Examples of Red Ribbon Hall activities from the Charlotte Rebublican, January 10, 1879: "Miss Ada Gray, the celebrated actress, will appear at the new Red Ribbon Hall next week in her three best plays, 'East Lynne', 'Camille', and 'Betrayed'. This will be the opening entertainment in the new hall, and thirty-five percent of the receipts will be given to the club. Hon. Schuyler Colfax will deliver his lecture on 'The Life and Character of Abraham Lincoln' at the same place on the 17th." In 1924, Red Ribbon Hall was used as a Masonic Temple and a second floor theater was added.

Red Ribbon Hall is a two-story Second Empire building on the Main Street of Eaton Rapids, Michigan. The building has a main floor used for public gatherings and an upstairs theater with an open floor and balcony seating. The building is located between the First Congregational Church (est. 1878) and a public park, with a millrace from the Grand River at the rear of the building. Eaton Rapids is a small, historic town that was prominent as a mineral water boom town in the 1800's and was known as "The Saratoga of the West".

The Eaton Rapids Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is looking for a tenet for historic Red Ribbon Hall. The DDA is inviting interested parties to discuss creative solutions to save this signature building in the downtown historic district. The DDA will consider selling, leasing, or partnering with the right organization that will find a use for the building that will bring people downtown. The non-profit DDA has the authority to restore and preserve buildings which aid in the economic growth of the downtown district. Now Red Ribbon Hall needs help. If you or your organization is interested in preserving this Eaton Rapids landmark to help vitalize the downtown area by creating a gathering place either for profit, enrichment, or entertainment, contact DDA Executive Director Doug Stevenson at 517-857-2882, or email dougst@earthlink.net.
