Property History
Built by prominent merchant.

Property Description
A fashionable fusion of the Tudor revival style with the bungalow, popular in the 1920's when this home was built by Ben Wood, a prominent merchant in Spring Hope. This 2,119 square foot home in Spring Hope's Historic District is on the National Register of Historic Places. The current owner has cut no corners in the restoration process. Original architectural features were maintained while updating for today's living. The cross-gable slate roof was refurbished by Baker Roofing, the restorer of church and library roofs. The oak floors are all original and refinished. All interior solid wood doors were refinished by a furniture refinisher. the home is all on one level with a formal living room with fireplace and built-ins, formal dining room, butler's pantry with breakfast nook, sun room, kitchen with pantry and laundry room. From the kitchen, exit the rear of the house through an enclosed porch that opens onto the deck. The master bedroom and bath are oversized, with a walk-in closet. The other two bedrooms share a bathroom with a ceramic tile shower and two vanities. The home is heated and cooled by a gas-pak that was installed in 2014. Energy efficiency is enhanced by new vinyl replacement windows. The detached brick two-car garage is original to the home with a recently replaced roof. The deck looks out over a half acre lot that is shaded by old oaks.

Spring Hope is a friendly small town that welcomes new comers. Enjoy your morning coffee on the screen porch, walk to the post office, the library, and the grocery store. Only 15 minutes to I-95, 35 minutes to Raleigh, 20 minutes to Rocky and Wilson. 32036-81720
