Architectural Salvage Business Opportunity
Being able to do what you love is what most people want in a job. Getting up in the mornings and not dreading another workday but rather having something different and exciting to challange you. For the past few years I have been doing such a job in architectural salvage. We de-construct buildings and save the pieces for resale. It has been amazing to explore the historic area of Philadelphia where I work, going in attics, old houes, basements that have not been used for years, or buildings that are from another era that are now ready to come down. Each day brings something different and there is also the learing of how buildings were built over the past few hundred years. There is also the satisfaction of saving things that otherwise might have been thrown out, now these things can have a second opportunity to be used.

Some of the interesting things we do are going into old churches that are about to be remodeled for new uses, searching through houses that are going to be coming down, meeting home owners that are remodeling and want things removed, taking apart glassed in sun rooms, removing mantels, taking out old plumbing fixtures and so much more.

Working in such an enviroment has helped me with an appreciation of older things and even influenced me in how I built my house and what matterials I used.

Now with all this said about how it is a fun and interesting job, the business owner that I work for is now retiring and is looking for a new owner to carry on the tradition of saving materials. The business is located in Philadelphia but can be moved to another location. If you are interested, you can contact ReStore of Philadelphia at www.Re-Store-online.com or 215-634-3474 for more information. Also a blog has been set up with much more information on the business http://restoreofphiladelphia.wordpress.com/2012/02/14/architectural-salvage-business-for-sale
