Mead & Hunt, Inc., a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, is seeking a highly motivated cultural resource specialist.

Responsibilities include conducting Section 106 compliance tasks including identifying and evaluating historic resources; applying the National Register Criteria; conducting research and site visits; preparing reports including historic contexts, property descriptions, and evaluations of properties; and working with clients and project managers on architectural surveys and Section 106 compliance projects. Travel will be required.

The successful candidate must have a master’s degree in historic preservation or related field such as history, architectural history, or public history. The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following: experience completing cultural resource management activities for Section 106 projects; experience with transportation projects; experience authoring reports including descriptions, historic contexts, and statements of significance; an ability to conduct research and field surveys and apply the National Register Criteria; an ability to navigate project schedules; and an ability to provide work samples that demonstrate strong writing, research, and communication skills.

If you have strong communication and organizational skills, are self-motivated, and can work well both independently and as part of a team, complete the online application process for this job posting at www.meadhunt.com/careers OR submit your cover letter and resume (and the pdf application if possible) to the address below. The deadline to apply for this position is Friday, September 1, 2017.

Interviews are awarded on our review of your ability to meet the qualifications in the paragraphs describing the “successful” candidate and “ideal” candidate, so be sure to explain where indicated in the online application (or in your COVER LETTER, not just in your resume, if you are applying by mail) how you meet each qualification listed in the paragraphs above. Mead & Hunt will not sponsor a visa (H-1B, etc.) for this position.
