On Saturday October 25, 2008, the Historic Ladd Carriage House was moved back to its original site at SW Broadway and Columbia Ave in Portland, Oregon. It was moved in July 2007 to allow for an underground parking garage to be built.
According to Friends of the Ladd Carriage House, "costs for the move and the initial restoration are being born by Opus Northwest and represent a major contribution to the preservation of the city's important historic buildings. The Ladd Carriage House is available for sale for commercial use, and interior layout and finishes can be customized to fit the needs of its new owner." Representatives with PreservationDirectory.com attended the move and have posted a video of the move on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=twA4v_gJ2ZQ. The 8 minute video shows a portion of the move down Columbia Ave (note - the Ladd Carriage House begins slowly moving around the 6 minute mark).
