Richard Grubb & Associates (RGA) is currently seeking a motivated and talented Historian/Architectural Historian to work in our Cranbury, New Jersey office. The successful candidate must have a Master’s degree in History, Architectural History, Historic Preservation or closely related field, and a minimum of five (5) years experience conducting historical research and writing. Experience in cultural resources management, Section 106 studies, and New Jersey’s architectural history is preferred but not required. Duties of the Historian/Architectural Historian will include detailed historical research from primary and secondary sources, technical report writing, National Register evaluations, and HABS/HAER recordation. The ability to conduct intensive archival research (deeds, census records, etc.) and to write clear, cogent, and thorough historic contexts is a must. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong organizational skills, have the ability to manage priorities, and meet project deadlines and budgets.
