Main Street Gettysburg is announcing a job vacancy this week for an Assistant Museum Manager to aid the Museum Manager of the David Wills House, a National Park Service historic house museum opened February 12, 2009, in downtown Gettysburg.

Interested candidates must have related museum experience. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, oversight of staff and volunteers, aiding the manager with planning, training volunteer staff, exceptional customer service skills and helping to promote this national historic site. This position is part-time year round and non-benefitted.  Resumes and references should be sent to willshouse@gettysburgpa.org by April 29, 2009.

Main Street Gettysburg is a partner with the National Park Service for the management and operation of the David Wills House, a new historic attraction that is an official site within Gettysburg National Military Park. David Wills’ home was the center of the immense clean-up process after the Battle of Gettysburg in July 1863 and where President Lincoln put the finishing touches on the Gettysburg Address. The speech transformed Gettysburg's community from a place of devastation to the symbol of our nation's new birth of freedom. Main Street Gettysburg is an organization of dedicated community leaders and supporters working toward a brighter future for Gettysburg, for the benefit of our citizens, businesses, and visitors. For more information contact the David Wills House at 717- 334-2499 or visit the website: www.davidwillshouse.org.
