Thanks to the tremendous support of longtime AHC members and the hard work of our numerous volunteers, the AHC is proud to announce the 13th Annual Kitchen Revival Tour! Year after year this self-guided tour has proven to be one of our most successful education events and 2011 should prove to be yet another fantastic must-attend event.
If you are thinking of a kitchen renovation yourself or would just love to see inside some of Portland’s fantastic vintage homes, this tour is certainly for you. Nine homes have been carefully selected to display a variety, from intact original kitchens, to those painstakingly renovated to reflect their home’s original character. No matter your favorite architectural style, this tour is sure to please.
Check out a variety of period and renovated kitchens from the 1900 to the 1950s.
Included on this year’s tour are two homes designed by local builder Ken Birkemeier and an amazing intact “streamline” house from 1950.
Along the way you will learn that even the oldest of kitchens can be adapted to meet 21st century lifestyles. In some instances, there may even be little or nothing to change at all. You’ll also see the fine work of local craftsmen and meet homeowners who truly reflect the AHC mission of educating people to preserve our building heritage.
This year the tour showcases creative homes from the early 20th Century to the Mid-Century Modern. We hope you’ll join us for this one of a kind and very popular program!
We have made some changes to our ticketing process. You will note that you may purchase individual tickets or “couples” tickets. If you are a couple, we encourage you to purchase your tickets this way. Each couple will receive one tour booklet and a companion ticket.
