Schools of “Tomorrow” Today (presented by Landmarks Illinois)
June 21, 2007 |
At the turn of the last century, Chicago was at the heart of the progressive education reform movement. John Dewey, Francis Parker and Queene Ferry Coonley - all giants in the field - each started a school between 1897 and 1902. All three schools are still considered to be extraordinarily nurturing and innovative places to learn. Many features in the curriculum and design of these three schools became standards for mid-20th century education.
Join us as we look and think about these "schools of tomorrow" and what they mean to us today.
