Join HSW and the Wikimedia DC as we host a tour and edit-a-thon focused on DC history.
Go behind the scenes at the Historical Society of Washington, D.C., and use our unique resources to research and update Wikipedia pages related to D.C. history!
The Historical Society of Washington D.C., the Washingtoniana and Black Studies Divisions of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Public Library, and George Washington University are partnering on this event. Each has rich collections related to the history of Washington, D.C.
This event includes: a behind-the-scenes tour with the Library Director of the Kiplinger Research Library, a tour of the exhibit: Window to Washington, lunch, and the edit-a-thon. Individuals who are unfamiliar with Wikipedia but would like to learn more are more than welcome to attend!
- Please come with your own WiFi-enabled laptop computer.
- 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2013
- Historical Society of Washington, D.C., 801 K Street NW Washington, DC 20001 at the main entrance on K street.
