We are pleased to announce Barbara A. Perry from the prestigious Miller Center at the University of Virginia as our 2013 featured speaker, with "Camelot at 50" as the timely topic.
Barbara Perryis a senior fellow of The Miller Center's Presidential Oral History Program at the University of Virginia, and a well-known scholar of the U.S. Supreme Court and the American presidency. The Presidential Oral History Program is systematically and comprehensively debriefing the principal figures in the administrations of Presidents Carter, Reagan, George H.W. Bush, and Clinton, with plans to do the same for future presidents. Perry is also an authority on the Kennedy presidency. Perry will have just finished her latest book titled Rose: Mother of the Kennedy Image; signed copies will be sold at the event. In 1994-95, she was the judicial fellow at the U.S. Supreme Court, where her duties included researching and drafting speeches for Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist.
She is a frequent media commentator on public affairs for international and national newspapers, magazines, radio, television, and Internet, including CNN, C-SPAN, MSNBC, BBC, National Public Radio, Public Radio International, New York Times, Washington Post, and USA Today.
