Growing in the Garden, The Egg-ceptional Egg @ Macculloch Hall Historical Museum
May 5, 2015 |
“Growing in the Garden” is a year-round hands-on art program for pre-schoolers and their caregivers, meeting twice a month at Macculloch Hall Historical Museum (MHHM). Each program includes a story, walk in the garden, and an art project. Programs take place the first and third Tuesday of each month, and two session times are available, 1:15 - 2pm and 3:45 - 4:30pm.
On Tuesday, May 5 explore “The Egg-ceptional Egg” in its many forms, colors, and sizes. During activities children discover all the places eggs can be found. After a story, children can build a nest from natural materials, test its ability to hold eggs in a tree, and then bring home their nest to provide “recycled” nesting materials for animals and birds in their backyards.
Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Pre-register by phone at (973) 538-2404 ext. 16 or by email cwinslow@maccullochhall.org. The cost for each program is $12 per pair (child and caregiver) for non-members and $8 per pair for members. There is a $5 discount for prepaid registration for four sessions. During inclement weather the program meets indoors in the museum classroom.
