Entertainment on the Frontier
August 21, 2016 |
Two different cultures existed on The Hermitage plantation: the Scottish-American Jackson family, and the enslaved African-American community. Join us in exploring the ways each culture had to leave their worries and enjoy some entertainment. Guests can experience the variety of music, games, and stories that would have been part of 19th-century Hermitage life. Experience the 19th century come to life with our annual program series Sundays LIVE!
Every Sunday from June through September, visitors can experience a wide variety of living history and interactive programs designed for all ages! Interact with historic figures of all social classes and backgrounds, meet our beautiful farm animals and native wildlife, taste authentic southern biscuits, harvest the plantation crops, meet with soldiers from the War of 1812 and the Civil War, learn to duel like a Tennessee
gentleman, and so much more!
