Archaeological Resource Preservation: Developing a Model for the City of Portland
February 7, 2008 |
Archaeologists across the US are collaborating with local governments and community groups to benefit both local archaeological resource preservation and community needs. What can we take from these approaches and apply here in Portland?
You are cordially invited to a presentation by PSU student Wendy Ann Wright, who will review why urban archaeology matters, consider current municipal approaches to archaeological resources and suggest how we can improve local management of these resources here.
A discussion of future steps to build a stronger community based archaeology based program will follow the presentation. |
