Architecture in the Wild: Exploring Maplewood's Seneca Parkway
June 22, 2023 |
Love old buildings but don’t know a Queen Anne from a Dutch Colonial? In this class, the Landmark Society’s Young Urban Preservationists (YUPs) take students out to explore Rochester’s architectural history in its natural setting. During this two-hour walking tour, walk the streets of the Maplewood neighborhood, examining the magnificent architecture of the Frederick Law Olmsted-designed Seneca Parkway. As you traverse one of Rochester’s most impressive streets, learn the names of important architectural styles, basic architectural terminology, and how to approximately date the buildings we see every day.
