International Committee for Regional Museums Conference - Regional Museums in a Post Industrial Age
October 20-24, 2008 |
The International Committee for Regional Museums (ICR) is coming to Pennsylvania. Co-hosts are the Pennsylvania Federation of Museums and Historical Organizations, the Western Pennsylvania Museum Council, the PHMC, Senator John Heinz Pittsburgh History Center, and the Johnstown Area Heritage Association.
What is the future of Regional Museums? What strategies must they adopt to thrive in a global economy? Presenters are encouraged to discuss issues relating to economic sustainability; methods of increasing community involvement and the challenges of documenting, collecting and interpreting changing cultural and physical landscapes.
For more information, see www.icr-icom.org or contact Susan Hanna, (717)783-5397. ICR conferences often lead to lasting professional partnerships, shared exhibitions and programs. In order to encourage interaction with ICR members, Pennsylvania museum professionals, museum studies students or other interested parties may attend keynote speeches and presentations without charge. Prior registration, however, is required. |
