Last Stop Willoughby: Remembering the CP & E
August 9-10, 2008 |
From 1896 to 1926, downtown Willoughby was home to the locally owned electric railroad known as the Cleveland, Painesville and Eastern, or CP & E. Although the tracks have been torn up or paved over, and the overhead trolley lines removed, traces of the CP & E remain if you know where to look. For two days in August, the non-profit organization Heart of Willoughby will be holding Last Stop Willoughby: Remembering the CP & E, to honor our railroad heritage. We will have model trains and live steam at various locations in the Willoughby Historic District, and a reproduction, motorized trolley to move our visitors from Stop to Stop. Saturday August 9, from 10am – 5pm, Sunday August 10, from 12noon – 5pm. Free parking; no admission. |
