Rare Book Lecture and Appraisals at Linden Place Mansion
April 17, 2014 |
That old book that’s been collecting dust on your shelf might be rare and valuable. Find out on Thursday April 17th at 7:00 PM at a lecture and appraisal event at Linden
Place Mansion, 500 Hope Street, Bristol. Presenter Ken Gloss will talk about rare
books in the elegant parlors of the mansion, followed by a question-and-answer
session and then he will offer free verbal assessments of books and documents that guests have brought with them (maximum two per guest).
This evening will also feature several examples of notable books, magazines and ephemera from Brattle Book Shop’s private collection such as a 1912 World Series Scorecard, iconic issues of Life Magazine, a sales brochure that promoted the Titanic.
“New England homes are treasure-troves for old and rare books that have increased in value over the years,” says Gloss. Find out if yours is one of them!
Admission is $10, $5 for Linden Place Members and reservations are recommended. For further information about this talk and to make reservations, please contact the Linden Place office at 401-253-0390 or info@lindenplace.org.
