Lost Boston
May 29, 2014 |
The Boston Preservation Alliance and the Old South Meeting House partner to present author Anthony Sammarco's presentation of his new book, Lost Boston. Sammarco will take guests on a nostalgic and eye-opening journey to the many places in Boston that have been lost over the years; buildings like the original Museum of Fine Arts in Copley Square, John Hancock's Beacon Hill mansion, the Huntington Avenue Grounds, and the original Boston Opera House. Barely escaping this list is the venue for this event, the Old South Meeting House, which was once auctioned off for the value of its parts and was being dismantled when the citizens of Boston rallied to save it! Join us as we learn more about the city's historic places and why it is as important as ever to value and preserve these unique locations today.
This event is free and open to the public. No RSVP required. Contact Erica Lindamood for more information.
