Growing in the Garden, Buzz Like a Bee

September 2, 2014
Growing in the Garden, Buzz Like a Bee
Winter, spring, summer and fall -- come visit the gardens at Macculloch Hall!  “Growing in the Garden” is a year-round hands-on art program for 3 - 5 year olds and their caregivers using natural resources found in Macculloch Hall Historical Museum’s garden.  The program includes a story, a walk in the garden, and an art project, and meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month with three session times available: 10 - 11:15am, 1:15 – 2 pm or 3:45 – 4:30 pm.

On Tuesday, September 2nd Macculloch Hall Historical Museum invites children for activities to mark the start of National Honey Month.  Why does honey come in different colors?  What happens inside the hive?  Activities include a story, walk in the garden, and an art project using bubble wrap to create a beehive print.

Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Pre-register by phone at (973) 538-2404 ext. 16 or by email cwinslow@maccullochhall.org. The cost for each program is $12 per pair (child and caregiver) for non-members and $8 per pair for members. There is a $5 discount for prepaid registration for four sessions. During inclement weather the program meets indoors in the museum classroom.  Please visit the Museum Facebook page for weather-related closings. For details on the education programs or any of the other programs offered by Macculloch Hall Historical Museum, or to purchase a membership which offers a variety of benefits including discounts on programs, please visit maccullochhall.org
