Prospect Hill Tour of Homes

September 20, 2014

This tour is a special opportunity to view the interiors of a selection of homes in the Prospect Hill neighborhood, which encompasses four distinct neighborhoods: Columbus Park, Armory Hill, Fargo Estate, and the Cottage District.

The tour will feature approximately a dozen homes and other locations in the neighborhood, including Holy Angels Church on Porter Avenue and the recently renovated Horsefeathers Market & Residences on Connecticut Street. While the homes on the tour vary widely in architectural style, they all have incredible interior details that have been lovingly preserved or restored by their owners, who are full of pride in both their homes and their neighborhood.

This is a self-guided tour, with maps provided at the check-in location at the Karpeles Manuscript Museum Porter Hall at 453 Porter Avenue. From there, go at your own pace and in whatever order you choose to view the homes, where Explore Buffalo volunteers will be on hand to guide you through each location. Please note that no interior photography is permitted in the homes.

Cider and cookies will be served at a recently renovated coffeehouse in the Fargo neighborhood. A special guest, Mayor William Fargo, will be at the coffeehouse from 1 to 3 PM.

Proceeds from the tour are shared between Explore Buffalo and the Niagara Gateway Columbus Park Association.

Presale: $20 / students $10
Day of tour: $25
