Digging Deeper Research Series: UW Built Environments Library

April 4, 2015

Digging Deeper is Historic Seattleā€™s multi-session program designed to provide attendees with behind-the-scenes insight to primary research materials in the many archives and libraries in Seattle and King County. Each month we visit a selected archive or library and receive expert advice as to what is available and how staff can assist with research projects. This program helps you to explore buildings, architecture, and history. By the time you are through, you will want to attend one or more of the events during National Archives Month in Seattle in October 2015.

On April 4, the University of Washington Built Environments (BE) Library staff provides us with an in-depth review of its materials and resources including the Slide Library. The BE Library offers assistance to students, faculty and the public in architecture, construction management, landscape architecture and urban design and planning. It maintains a collection of over 50,000 books and journals, in print, microfilm and digital formats, for research and study. Most of the collection circulates to students and faculty, although some items are either too fragile or rare for lending. The BE Library is located at 334 Gould Hall.

Cost: Series of eight sessions: $65 general public / $50 members / $20 students
Individual sessions: $10 general public / $8 members / $5 students
