Deadwood History Discussion – American Carnage: Wounded Knee, 1890

April 23, 2015

Join author and historian Jerome Greene of Arvada, Colorado, for a discussion and readings from his book, American Carnage: Wounded Knee, 1890.   Greene will offer an informal question and answer session on the mechanics of the on-site and repository research that went into the preparation of his book. He will take questions about South Dakota history and/or Indian wars history, as well as questions regarding his career as a research historian.  Attendees are asked to prepare specific questions dealing with elements of American Carnage or other books written by Greene or of the process regarding his research and writing of history.  Homestake Adams Research and Cultural Center; 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.; $5 for museum members, $10 for non-members.  Reservations requested.  Light refreshments will be served.  Call 605-722-4800 for reservations.
