Oak Hill Cemetery Tour: Lawrence's Arlington

The Watkins Museum of History in Lawrence, Kansas, will present a walking tour at Oak Hill Cemetery on Sunday, May 3rd at 2 p.m. This walking tour will honor veterans who have served from the Civil War to Vietnam. In celebration of Oak Hill's 150th anniversary, interpreters and guides will provide glimpses into military conflicts in various time periods, will highlight the building of Oak Hill Cemetery in 1865 following the Civil War, and will provide insights into the personal stories of selected local veterans. Oak Hill Cemetery is located at 1605 Oak Hill Avenue, Lawrence, Kansas.
Admission - Register in advance at the Watkins Museum of History at 1047 Massachusetts Street in Lawrence or at www.WatkinsMuseum.org with PayPal.
Admission: $5 for Watkins Museum members & veterans, $10 non-members. Youth 17 and under are free. Day of tour $15 everyone.
In the Veteran's Section an eternal flame honors those veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice in the Douglas County area.
