Beverly Hills Revival: An Evening at Waverly Mansion

October 17, 2015

Inviting you to an evening at the magnificent Waverly Mansion, a Beverly Hills landmark.

This sprawling estate was built in 1926 by silent film moguls Al and Charles Christie. The brothers produced many silent comedies at the dawn of Hollywood filmmaking, and founded the first Hollywood movie studio (on the site of the current Sunset-Gower Studios).

Later residents of the home include legendary composer Cole Porter, who wrote his timeless classic "Night and Day" while living there.

Designed by architect Leland F. Fuller and lovingly restored by its current owner, the lavish Tudor-style Sunset Boulevard mansion is surrounded by nearly four acres of rolling landscaped grounds featuring beautiful lawns, fountains, and a bridge-covered natural stream. Intricate hand-carved woodwork appears throughout the home, along with an original fireplace, hand-hewn beamed ceilings, and a fascinating variety of collections that will enchant you.

This very special event offers rare access to this significant property while supporting the Los Angeles Conservancy's ongoing efforts to preserve historic places in Beverly Hills and throughout L.A. County.
