"I Do, I Do" Exhibit at Linden Place

September 1-30, 2015
"I Do, I Do" Exhibit at Linden Place
Linden Place is hosting “I Do, I Do,” an exhibit highlighting the weddings that have taken place at the mansion over the course of history. The exhibit explores American wedding traditions, from arranged marriages in high society and upper class marriages that united American money with European titles, to ethnic ceremonies that celebrate the vitality of multi-culturalism in America today.

Before Linden Place became a popular venue for couples to host their wedding, it was a private home that held aristocratic weddings of the wealthy. There were no expenses spared when the niece of Colonel Colt held her wedding at the mansion with 800 guests. Yes, nearly 800 wedding guests witnessed the union of Miss Blanche Francesca De Wolf to Baron Louis de levay de Kistelek of Hungary at Linden Place. Learn more about this high society wedding, and more at August’s exhibit “I Do, I Do.”

The exhibit will be open until the end of September. Linden Place is open for tours Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10am to 4pm, and by appointment.  Admission is $8, $6 for seniors and $5 for children and free for Linden Place members.
