The Dynamic City: Futures for the Past

April 1-2, 2016
The Dynamic City: Futures for the Past
Historic New England and Boston University are excited to announce the list of speakers for this year’s Directions in Twenty-First Century Preservation symposium, The Dynamic City: Futures for the Past. Joe Anderson, mayor of Liverpool, United Kingdom; Maurice Cox, planning director for the City of Detroit; and Marco Doria, mayor of Genoa, Italy, are the keynote speakers for the event at Boston University.

On Friday and Saturday, April 1 and 2, eighteen speakers representing historic preservation, urban planning, architecture, green infrastructure, and history will confront the unique challenges of contemporary preservation.

The Dynamic City is co-hosted by Historic New England; the Boston University Initiative on Cities, an urban leadership research center co-founded by leading political scientist Graham Wilson and the late Boston mayor Tom Menino; and Boston University’s nationally recognized American and New England Studies Program.

Registration is $90, $45 for students. See a full agenda and register online.
