To Avenge Fort Mims: Tennessee and the Creek War

August 14, 2016
To Avenge Fort Mims: Tennessee and the Creek War
THIS PROGRAM IS FREE WITH THE COST OF ADMISSION

Join us as we explore the events that transformed a small internal war within the Creek Nation into one that altered the course of history, and set Andrew Jackson on a path to national importance and the presidency. A costumed interpreter will discuss the clothing, equipment, and weapons of the Tennesseans and relate the story and repercussions of Jackson’s victory at Horseshoe Bend.

Experience the 19th century come to life with our annual program series Sundays LIVE!

Every Sunday from June through September, visitors can experience a wide variety of living history and interactive programs designed for all ages! Interact with historic figures of all social classes and backgrounds, meet our beautiful farm animals and native wildlife, taste authentic southern biscuits, harvest the plantation crops, meet with soldiers from the War of 1812 and the Civil War, learn to duel like a Tennessee
gentleman, and so much more!
