Save the date for Inherit Austin’s Seventh Annual Somewhere In Time fundraiser!
Somewhere In Time: Old School will be held on the historic campus of Huston-Tillotson University. The school’s roots date to the late 19th century and predate the founding of the University of Texas. It has educated generations of African American students, and served as a cultural heart of East Austin, ever since. The campus reflects this rich history, from the Prairie style, National Register-listed Anthony and Louise Viaer Alumni Hall to the towering, mid-century modern King-Seabrook Chapel.
The evening will include dinner, drinks, music, and a silent auction, along with walking tours of the campus and an update on the East Austin Cultural Resources Survey.
Proceeds from Somewhere In Time will support Preservation Austin’s mission is to promote Austin’s diverse cultural heritage through the preservation of historic places. Inherit Austin will also donate a portion of the proceeds to Huston-Tillotson University for continued maintenance and preservation of its cultural resources.
