"Heart this Dive" Happy Hour - Historic Seattle Interurban Series
September 13, 2016 |
Join Historic Seattle for our next InterUrban event on Tuesday, September 13 from 6-8 pm at Loretta's Northwesterner in Seattle's South Park neighborhood.
Seattle's historic small businesses and iconic dive bars are its soul. With the rapid pace of development, these longtime businesses and gathering spaces - from bars, restaurants, shops, and galleries - are at risk of being lost.
Come celebrate these beloved places and learn about how to protect them at our happy hour in South Park! Loretta's Northwesterner welcomes us to their down-home restaurant and bar, which got its start as a logger tavern. The Stranger said that drinking at Loretta's "is like drinking in a cabin in the woods, or maybe inside a wooden cigar box."
Mike Seely, author of Seattle's Best Dive Bars (2009), joins us to talk about dive
bars in Seattle and Seattle Council member Lisa Herbold will share the latest about Seattle Legacy Businesses, a collaborative project to advocate for these long-time community assets that play an essential role in defining our city.
