Join the National Lighthouse Museum for the First Lecture of the 2017 Season! On Thursday, February 23rd, 2017 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm the National Lighthouse Museum located in St. George, adjacent to the Staten Island Ferry, 200 The Promenade at Lighthouse Point, Staten Island,NY will welcome Commander Timothy R. Dring USNR (Ret.) who will speak to us on the USLHS Depot's role in the development of buoys and buoy-tending boats. Commander Dring will focus on the evolutionary changes in the designs and technology of the types of lighted and unlighted USLHS channel buoys, and on the small boats that were designed and built by the Depot for the purpose of tending buoys. Educationally informative for young and old.Tickets are $10 for guests. Museum members pay no admission charge.
