2018 Arizona Historic Preservation Conference
June 6-8, 2018 |
ÂșThe 2018 Arizona Historic Preservation Conference marks the 16th annual program that emphasizes professional development workshops, sessions, and renown keynote speakers to an audience dedicated to the preservation of sites, buildings, homes, and cultural resources throughout Arizona and the Southwest. The program is hosted and produced by the State Historic Preservation Office (Arizona), a department of Arizona State Parks & Trails.
The 2018 conference is the first conducted in Scottsdale and will focus on the theme "Design in the Desert" which will speak to all levels of design, Midcentury Modernism, architecture, landscape, and the development of a sense of place in the southwestern desert environment. The conference will also acknowledge and commemorate the 150th anniversary of the birth of Frank Lloyd Wright whose Taliesin West and the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation are nestled in the foothills of the McDowell Mountains in Scottsdale. The David and Gladys Wright House is also just moments away from the host hotel and sessions will be offered about the preservation program underway for one of the greatest desert masterpieces designed by Frank Lloyd Wright for his son.
Sponsorships, advocacy partnerships, and other ways of participating are also available by contacting questions@azpreservation.com. Call for Sessions is taking place through December 8, 2017. The portal for session submissions is found on our conference website www.azpreservation.com.
