Potawatom Trail of Death Commemorative Caravan

Trail of Courage Living History Festival at Fulton County Historical Society, 4 miles north of Rochester IN on US 31 & Tippecanoe River, Sept. 15-16. Since 1976 this event has portrayed Frontier Indiana with historic camps, 2 stages with period music and dance, Indian dances, foods cooked over wood fires, traditional crafts, different honored Potawatomi family each year - in 2018 will honor Gary Wiskigeamatyuk, Prairie Band Potawatomi who will perform hoop dances. Admission charged. On Monday Sept. 17 caravan of vehicles will begin at Chief Menominee statue at Plymouth IN and travel 660 miles to Osawatomie, Kansas, ending with special ceremonies, potluck supper & Mass at Sugar Creek Mission, now known as St. Philippine Duchesne Memorial Park on Sept. 22.
