Washington Trust for Historic Preservation: Apply Today for our FREE Overnight Summer Camp!
Historic Preservation Blog from PreservationDirectory.com -

Email The Author: yhp@preservewa.org
Website: https://preservewa.org/programs/youth-heritage-project

Are you ready for an adventure that combines history, science, and the great outdoors? Look no further than the Washington Trust for Historic Preservation’s Youth Heritage Project (YHP), our summer program for high-school age students that’s FREE for those accepted. This summer’s program takes place July 16-19 at Ebey's Landing National Historical Reserve—our nation’s first historical reserve, located in the town of Coupeville on Whidbey Island.

Students will explore topics related to maritime heritage and the impact of climate change on the preservation of historic and cultural resources. Students will have opportunities to engage in hands-on activities to help conservation efforts, visit historic sites throughout Ebey’s Reserve, and learn about co-management of cultural resources.

YHP students are also paired with local organizations to address real-world issues in the community and will work in groups on project proposals to present on the last day of the jam-packed week. Come explore historic Ebey's Reserve with us!

Apply by May 17 if you're a high-school-age student interested in attending. We are also seeking adult educators and professionals to serve as teacher-mentors for the program. Please use the same link to apply by April 26.

Email us at yhp@preservewa.org or call us at 206-624-9449 if you have any questions. We look forward to receiving your applications!
