Growing in the Garden: The Industrious Ant @ Macculloch Hall Historical Museum
June 16, 2015 |
“Growing in the Garden” is a year-round hands-on art program for pre-schoolers and their caregivers, meeting twice a month at Macculloch Hall Historical Museum (MHHM). Each program includes a story, walk in the garden, and an art project. Programs take place the first and third Tuesday of each month, and two session times are available, 1:15 - 2pm and 3:45 - 4:30pm.
On Tuesday June 16th “The Industrious Ant” will give children a chance to learn about the daily adventures of the industrious ant. Watch ants in an “ant observatory” as they move and build their communities. After a story in the garden, children can create an ant paper collage showing industrious ants above ground, below ground, or both.
Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Pre-register by phone at (973) 538-2404 ext. 16 or by email cwinslow@maccullochhall.org. The cost for each program is $12 per pair (child and caregiver) for non-members and $8 per pair for members. There is a $5 discount for prepaid registration for four sessions. During inclement weather the program meets indoors in the museum classroom. Please visit the Museum Facebook page for weather-related closings. For details on the education programs or any of the other programs offered by Macculloch Hall Historical Museum, or to purchase a membership which offers a variety of benefits including discounts on programs, please visit maccullochhall.org
