Family History and Genealogical Conference

The New Kent Historical Society is preparing for their first Family History & Genealogical Conference to be held on May 13-14, 2016.
This conference will consist of an array of information for the beginner and seasoned historian and genealogist. There is also the opportunity to do research at our new Family History and Research Center in New Kent County. Money raised at the event will be used to start a much needed museum in New Kent. Some of the speakers for the conference include Lauranett Lee and Paige Newman, Virginia Historical Society; Virginia Dunn, Library of Virginia, Bessida White Cauthorne, President of the Middle Peninsula African-American Genealogical and Historical Society of Virginia (MPAAGHS); Selma Stewart, President of the African American Genealogical and Historical Society of Hampton Roads; and Charles Mays, former Genealogy and History teacher at John Tyler Community College.
