Picnic on the Lawn: A Land of Opportunity in a Time of Trouble
June 24, 2016 |
Join lifelong local historian, Bill Swanson, as he discusses the national interests that made the Gold Rush into the Black Hills a necessity. The lecture will cover the economic, political and military factors that guaranteed the Black Hills would be "invaded.” Bring a lunch and enjoy the Historic Adams House lawn; 12:00 p.m.; admission by donation. In case of inclement weather, the lecture will be moved to the Homestake Adams Research and Cultural Center (HARCC).
