3 pm - 5 pm @ the National Lighthouse Museum Site
Dr. James Delgado will discuss the mission, the technologies employed, and the results, which included a clearer understanding of how Titanic tore apart and scattered its remains on the seabed two and a half miles down. Dr. Delgado will also add observations from his dive with Russian scientists to Titanic in the Mir submersibles in 2000.Dr. Delgado is currently the Director of Maritime Heritage in the Office of National Marine Sanctuaries for the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration. He oversees heritage programs and active research in the nation’s waters, as well as outreach and education on America’s underwater and marine heritage.
