Make this holiday season one to remember as you celebrate in historic Washington, Georgia! Join us for a merry and bright weekend during our annual Christmas Tour of Homes. The weekend will begin on Friday evening with a welcoming champagne reception at The Fitzpatrick Hotel located on the square in downtown Washington. Guests can also enjoy a stained-glass trolley tour and learn some tidbits about Washington along the way.
Several expertly preserved private homes will be welcoming visitors on Saturday, offering a rare glimpse into the past as homeowners showcase some of the finest architectural detail and furnishings of the Old South. In addition to touring these homes, guests can learn the fascinating history of downtown Washington while taking a guided walking tour of the square. Be sure to visit the Robert Toombs House and see scenes from Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, performed by locals and enjoy seeing another fine example of southern architecture. More treasures can be seen at the Washington Historical Museum and Callaway Plantation. Tailor your day to be filled with holiday wonder, then enjoy a traditional southern Christmas feast in the

Washington, Georgia, is one of the oldest towns in the state and was named for George Washington before he was president. There are more than 200 antebellum houses in this quaint town, and allegedly, the lost gold of the Confederacy was last seen in Washington. On the outskirts of town is the site of the Battle of Kettle Creek from the American Revolution. The town is located 2 hours from Atlanta, 1 hour from Athens, and 1 hour from Augusta, Georgia.
