Rehab Lab: Repairing Old Windows

November 5, 2016
Rehab Lab: Repairing Old Windows

Would you spend $50 to save $1000? In this hands-on workshop, historic window specialist Paul Schmidt of Restoration Window Systems shows how repairing old wooden windows can save money, improve window operation, boost energy efficiency and maintain architectural integrity. Get a thorough overview on how to assess window condition, repair drafts, fix broken glass, and much more. An absolute don’t-miss for anyone who cares for an old house, this class is presented by Preservation Alliance of Minnesota in partnership with MNHS and the Morrison County Historical Society.

This one-of-a-kind Rehab Lab will be held at the Charles A. Weyerhaeuser Memorial Museum in Little Falls. Class attendees will take part in repairing the museum's original windows. Museum designer Foster Dunwiddie of Miller Dunwiddie Architects used local materials and styles that evoke Morrison County's history and architectural styles. The museum was completed in 1975.
