The contemporary dialogue on authenticity in art and architecture in the context of preservation of historic and aging built environments is fraught with meaning and contentious dialogue. Through this first of its kind symposium, we will advance and promote a transatlantic understanding of the contemporary challenges and opportunities facing the built environment, and identify best practices that advance adaptive reuse and preservation efforts in creating visions of authenticity.
