Gold Camp Players Present "Barefoot in the Park" at the Homestake Opera House

May 4-13, 2018
Gold Camp Players Present "Barefoot in the Park" at the Homestake Opera House
Gold Camp Players Present "Barefoot in the Park" at the Homestake Opera House, a
romantic comedy play by Neil Simon in cooperation with Samuel French, Inc. New
York, NY.

"Barefoot in the Park" is directed by Rob Andresen and performed by the Gold Camp Players Community Theatre at the Historic Homestake Opera House at 313 W. Main Street, Lead.

STARRING:

– SARAH CANIDA as Corie Bratter, a free spirit, newlywed to Paul

– PHELAN SCHERER as Paul Bratter, a lawyer, newlywed to Corie

– CAMI DOHMAN as Mrs. Banks, Corie's mother

– KURT BAUER as Victor Velasco, the neighbor in the attic

– JOEL EDGAR as the telephone repairman

– MOSES WARD as the delivery man

FROM THE DIRECTOR, Rob Andresen:

"I am very excited to be a part of this play by Neil Simon. When I think of Broadway, Neil Simon jumps out to me. His plays are still very relevant 50 years later. To me, his characters represented are realistic, as they are not perfect, but are really good at heart. I look forward to the community having the chance to see these fantastic actors bring this production to life."

ABOUT THE SHOW:

Paul and Corie Bratter are newlyweds in every sense of the word. He’s a straight-as-an-arrow lawyer and she’s a free spirit always looking for the latest kick. Their new apartment is her most recent find – too expensive with bad plumbing and in need of a paint job. After a six-day honeymoon, they get a surprise visit from Corie’s loopy mother and decide to play matchmaker during a dinner with their neighbor-in-the-attic, Velasco, where everything that can go wrong, does. Paul just doesn’t understand Corie, as she sees it. He’s too staid, too boring, and she just wants him to be a little more spontaneous. Running “barefoot in the park” would be a start…

"Barefoot In The Park" is given a PG-13 rating and takes place May 4-6, and May 11-13 (Mother's Day weekend) with Friday and Saturday shows at 7:00 pm and Sunday shows at 2:00 pm.

Admission is $15 adults, $10 HHOH members, $5 students 17 and younger. Tickets are available by calling 605-584-2067 or in person at the office in the back of the building at 308 Julius St. M-F 9am to 3pm.

"Barefoot In The Park" is sponsored by annual members, KEVN Black Hills Fox TV and the SD Arts Council through the SD Dept. of Tourism through the National Endowment for the Arts.

Support for the HHOH is provided by the City of Lead, and the Adams-Mastrovich Family Foundation.
