Property History
Joseph Lovett first traveled to Chicago from the east coast in 1833 where he claimed 160 acres west of the city. In 1892 , John (grandson of Joseph) and his wife Marion designed and constructed a large Queen Anne residence in the Montclare neighborhood. Today the home continues to be a historic landmark in the community featured in architectural and garden tours. The house was purchased in 1994 and lovingly restored to its former beauty. During this restoration process, the owners were privileged to meet members of the John Lovett family, who originally built the house during the era of the Chicago World Fair.
