The Kansas State Historic Preservation Office at the Kansas Historical Society is seeking candidates for a subgrants coordinator. This position is responsible for administering and monitoring grant-funded projects for compliance with state and federal funding requirements and reviewing project plans for conformance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation. Duties include scheduling and conducting on-site visits to historic properties, developing and implementing procedures, criteria, and evaluation standards for the program, creating applications, promoting the program to the public, and conducting in-person and online workshops. The employee must be able to read, understand, and explain construction plans, must provide excellent customer service, and must be able to inspect historic buildings from roof to basement. The successful applicant will meet the Secretary of Interior’s Professional Qualification Standards in the area of Architectural History, or Historic Architecture.
