Maryland Museums Association, Inc. (MMA) invites proposals from qualified individuals and/or firms to lead a project focused on best practices for oral history, emphasizing equity, trust, and privacy.  This work is funded in part by a competitive grant awarded to the Maryland Museums Association by the Maryland 250 Commission.

The consultant will develop materials that are grounded in national best practices supplemented with Maryland-based case-studies and resources. The audience of this work are volunteers, cultural organizations, and community historians in Maryland that are considering launching or improving oral history programs at their institutions/agencies that are ethical, inclusive, and sustainable. 

Total budget is not to exceed $3,500 for consultant services, exclusive of workshop/meeting room rental fees and printing of worksheets/reports. The consultant must complete all deliverables by March 31, 2026, with draft materials and workshop scheduling completed in coordination with board members of the Maryland Museums Association.
