Job Title: Executive Director 
Job Type: Full Time 
Salary Range: $60,000 to $75,000 
Benefits: Two weeks paid time off, healthcare stipend if needed. 

About Our Organization 
Historic Georgetown, Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) community organization in Georgetown, CO that has advocated historic preservation and education for our town since 1970. We strive to foster a community in which each citizen contributes to the preservation of historic structures and areas of Georgetown. In doing so, people can immerse themselves in the rich culture and history in this National Historic Landmark Designated District. 

Position Summary  
The Executive Director is responsible for ensuring daily work aligns with the mission of Historic Georgetown, Inc. The Executive Director works closely with the Board to create and implement the organization’s long term strategic plan and set goals for preservation of properties, interpretation, and community engagement. They serve as the official link between the Board and the staff. The Executive Director reports directly to the Board, helping them establish policies and providing all necessary information for informed governance and decision-making. 

Leadership and Strategy 
1) Passionate about historic preservation and HGI’s mission. 
2) Strategic planning and visioning to align daily operations with HGI’s mission. 3) Liaise with Board of Directors (monthly), Exec Committee and other Committee meetings/chairs

Public Relations and Advocacy 
1) Advocate for historic preservation and the National Historic Landmark District Area. 2) Represents Historic Georgetown, Inc. 
3) Builds Government relations (National Trust, State Legislature, History Colorado, Local Regulations, Certified Local Government).

Financial Management and Fundraising: 
1) Successful non-profit experience and expertise, including philanthropy and grant writing with management of associated tax credits 
2) Evidence of development success (endowments, fund raising, alternative revenue streams including events and venue usage) 
3) Financial skills and management of annual budget 

Operations and Staff Management 
1) Monitors conservation easements, mining claims, and other land holdings. 2) Manages cell tower and other property contracts. 
3) Experience and willingness to plan and partner with Board Committees and Town staff  to coordinate events such as Christmas Market, Christmas at the Hamill House, Biennial House Tour, and more. 
4) Curates and manages Hamill House Museum, Alpine Hose Museum and other properties including Kneisel House, Bowman White House, Tucker Rutherford Cabin, The Johnson Log Cabin and Centennial Mill. 
5) Personnel management, including volunteer Board of Directors and paid staff

Desired education or experience: 
- Successful experience in historical preservation, non-profit management, related positions 
- Prefer bachelor’s degree in related field 

Skills: 
- Values aligned with National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 as well as future growth orientation 
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, attention to detail ? Ability to work with people 
- Desire to understand and learn the culture of the organization 
- Demonstrated potential for leadership growth, both in managing the organization and developing personal executive skills. 
- Technology skills including Xcel, Word, Zoom and related programs 
- Able to shovel snow in winter and move up to a 20 pound box.
