REQUEST FOR INFORMATION
The City of Evansville, Department of Metropolitan Development (DMD) is requesting information from potential consultants for a possible revision of the procedures and guidelines for the City’s Preservation Ordinance (G-98-24).

INTRODUCTION
The City of Evansville is seeking information to revise and update the Historic Preservation Commission’s District Procedures and Guidelines to make the document more clear, authoritative, and detailed by the addition of citations of pertinent laws and of the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards, when applicable.  The goal is to show the document’s basis and authority to be enforced with the needed additions of guidelines, procedures, rules, and situations not directly referenced to ensure the document is more consistent and to prevent future conflicts.

Involvement of Federal Grant Funds:

SCOPE OF WORK
The Evansville Department of Metropolitan Development, Historic Preservation Services Office has developed the following general Scope of Services Work program for the project.
Provide guidance and support in the preparation of the grant application through the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Division of Historic Preservation and Archaeology
Add citations throughout the current document of the pertinent laws and regulations as well as the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Historic Preservation applied in the document
Review of the document for recommended improvements and clarifications
Draft any changes and additions recommended by the DMD
Create a revised boundary map of the Riverside Preservation Area
The completed document will be reviewed by the City of Evansville Historic Preservation Commission Board.

Standards and Guidelines
District Guidelines and Procedures projects must be conducted in accordance with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards and Guidelines for Planning, Identification, Evaluation, and Registration
