Job Title: Experienced Preservation Carpenter
Salary: $25 -$30 hourly
Job Type: Full-Time

We are seeking a skilled Preservation Carpenter with a deep appreciation for historic structures and traditional building methods. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with historic restoration projects and a commitment to quality craftsmanship. This is a great opportunity to join a small, dedicated team working on unique and meaningful projects.

About Us:
At Early American Restoration, we’re passionate about preserving the past. We specialize in the restoration and preservation of historic homes and structures throughout Middlesex County, Massachusetts. We work with a focus on craftsmanship, authenticity, and respect for traditional techniques.

Key Responsibilities:
Perform restoration work on historic homes and buildings, doors, siding, and framing
Use traditional joinery and repair techniques to preserve original materials when possible
Read and interpret architectural plans, shop drawings, and historic preservation guidelines
Safely operate woodworking tools, both modern and traditional
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site
Communicate effectively with clients and represent the company professionally on-site

Requirements:
Must have proven preservation experience or credentials
10+ years of carpentry experience, with at least 2 years in preservation or historic restoration
Strong knowledge of traditional woodworking techniques and materials
Comfortable working in varying site conditions, including ladders and scaffolding
Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
A genuine interest in historic architecture and preservation
